Earlier this year at CES, the world’s largest consumer electronics trade show, companies introduced around 20,000 new products that have the potential to change a wide variety of industries. This included quite a few technologies that could affect the real estate industry as a whole.

Realtor Magazine Editor Melissa Dittmann Tracey rounded up four of the biggest tech trends that will affect our industry in her piece titled “Tech Trends That’ll Change Showings.” According to the piece, virtual reality headsets and drones are two developments that will transform the way agents and brokers typically show homes, by offering potential buyers a remote 360 degree view of a given property.

The conversation is continuing and others agree, and think the increase in the presence of these innovations will expand beyond property showings. In fact, according to RealEstateTechNews.com, “Even the way in which real estate firms attract prospective clients and interact with their existing clients has been fundamentally changed by the latest technologies.”
