A teacher seeking to become a home owner learned a valuable lesson from ERA Real Estate agent Christy Temple of ERA Northwest Professional Realty in Salem, Ore. – when you’re a good citizen, “good” things can happen.

Because the buyer serves the community as a middle school teacher, and needed an affordable house that could accommodate her family, Temple informed her of the HUD Good Neighbor Next Door program. It enables teachers, law enforcement officers and firefighters to buy discounted homes in areas that need revitalization.

Temple helped her client navigate the process, find a home that suited her needs and save money; which she later used to make upgrades to the home.

Teachers help kids get ready to enter the world with knowledge and confidence to make their dreams come true. Temple returned the favor to this educator by helping her realize her own dream – owning a home.
