When I was asked to emcee the 2013 ERA All-Star Agent Retreat in Marco Island, Florida, I had no clue they would be bringing in some of my very best friends to share the stage with me.
There’s like a few things you don’t know about the ones I’m closest to, so I’ll spill the beans here. (Sorry speakers!)
Maura Neill is my karaoke superstar partner. This girl can wail to a Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin’.” More importantly, however, she makes the meanest ribs I’ve ever had in my life. She dons a flowery apron and high heel shoes to because today’s most fabulous retro home chef. Finally, ask her about “ARM!” when you see her. She’ll know what it means, especially when you say Brian told me to ask you.
Shannon King is simply awesome. She is the sole reason I’m involved in NAR. She was an NAR Young Professionals Committee Chair before me and paved the way for me to become the 2014 liaison for member services. Shannon’s husband, Scott, is one of the nicest people you will ever meet. Don’t let his military resume scare you off. He’s truly a big teddy bear. Shannon’s daughter, Piper, is simply delicious. When Shannon decided she wanted a baby, she held my son Micah at seven days old, claiming that HE would help her conceive…and it worked!
Chandra Hall was one of my first two friends who was a national speaker. She and I met, believe it or not, in Vegas. I was scared out of my mind because she was so “famous” in my eyes. By the end of the evening, we had decided to grab a show after dinner. We went to the “day of discount” discount booth and bought tickets the cashier recommended. WRONG CHOICE! It was one of the most nasty shows either of us had ever seen. We vowed to never tell anyone. I’m breaking that vow now…sorry Chandra. This proves, for ERA, I will do anything.
